Academic Programs

Kingdom Bible Institute and Seminary (KBIS) offers many academic programs.

Each program is designed to help develop Spirit anointed leaders for Christian ministry through rigorous learning experiences that allow them to study and practice under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and the mentoring of a highly qualified and talented faculty. 

KBIS is designed for Christians who want to learn the Bible and live out the teachings of Christ. The academic programs are built on the fundamentals of the Christian faith but recognize the diversity that exists among God loving believers who accept the Bible as the inerrant, infallible, and inspired Word of God, and Christ Jesus as the only Savior.

Students applying to any academic program must be at least 18 years old and involved in a local church ministry (whether as a lay ministry volunteer or as a paid staff member).


Admission Requirements No high school diploma or GED is required to enroll in the certificate programs. However, a high school diploma or GED is required if these credits are applied to a degree program.

Course Requirements Students entering certificate programs enroll in according to the Seminary’s academic calendar.



The Associate of Ministry (AAM) program is designed for those applicants who have limited or no undergraduate college credit but have a burning desire to serve in ministry. The Associate of Ministry program is suitable for Deacons, Elders, Sunday school teachers, ministry leaders, and others serving in lay leadership positions in the church in mission fields.

Admission Requirements The applicant must present evidence of completion of a high school diploma or GED and present evidence of dedication in some ministry field.

Course Requirements The Associate of Ministry is a 60 credit-hour degree equivalent to a two year junior or community college degree. A core of 45 credit-hours must be earned at KBIS. Students entering this program enroll in the same courses that are required for a Bachelor of Biblical Studies degree.


The Associate of Biblical Studies degree is designed to equip students to more effectively study the Scriptures, and offers training in general studies areas.  The ABS utilizes an integrative approach in which the various courses build on one another to provide a unique focus that will help students connect biblical interpretation with an understanding of the world around them, while developing skills needed to succeed within an academic setting.

Admission Requirements:  A high school diploma or GED.  Clear evidence of dedication in this course of study.

Course Requirements: The ABS requires 60 credit hours.  A core of 45 credit hours must be completed at KBIS.  


Through foundational theological study the Bachelor of Arts in Theology provides a strong basis for ministry and christian leadership.  In addition to spiritual formation and exegetical skills essential to Christian studies, the program demonstrates how to examine the history of Christianity and the development of Christian doctrine, as well as gain a deeper understanding of major contemporary religions of the world.  


Earning a Bachelor of Christian Leadership (BCL) degree, you examine the history of Christianity and the development of Christian doctrine, as well as gain a deeper understanding of major contemporary religions of the world.  Your study includes the major teachings of the Christian faith and the basic elements of Christian discipleship.  

To effectively lead, you must also be an effective servant.  In Christian teachings, this means that you approach all decisions based upon Christian principles, which includes strategies for leading, shepherding and growing your church so you can serve more members.  While earning this degree, you explore Old and New Testament survey courses, Christian formation, the Gospels and the Book of Acts, and Christian Ethics.



The completion in Theology provides students with fundamental understanding of systematic and historical theology.  This graduate program in theology program is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary for local church service by instilling a foundational knowledge of Christian theology, including the biblical and historical roots of key doctrines of the faith.

The student is prepared to demonstrate theological reflection skills in identifying common themes in systematic and historical theology, emphasizing historical developments and major theological movements.


The Master of Christian of Christian Leadership is a 72 credit-hour degree designed for students who want to pursue specialized ministries.  The curriculum includes tools for biblical study; an introduction to Christian scripture, history, and theology; and classes in ministry-related skills.  

Upon completion, students will be prepared for a ministerial vocation as a church planter, minister in an established church, teacher, or campus minister, as well as roles in non-profit work. 

Ordination is available for qualifying ministers.

The Doctor of Ministry degree is a practice-oriented doctorate for pastors and ministry leaders. The goal of the program is to develop and equip reflective practitioners at a doctoral level with new levels of theological discernment and practical skills for the art of ministry leadership. DMin students will be stretched theologically and exposed to new models of ministry.

Entrance Requirements
  • Masters Degree from an accredited college, university or seminary
Course Requirements
  • 33 total credit hours of coursework
  • A 9 credit hours of thesis required


The DTh degree program is offered to students wishing to enhance their knowledge and ministerial skills or teaching competence in certain advanced areas of theology and ministry. The DTh program at STCU has a strong academic focus and biblical foundation, with a clear connection to the church.

Candidates for the Doctor of Theology degree will specialize in one of the fields of theological scholarship, such as: Biblical Studies; Hebrew Bible/Old Testament; New Testament and Early Christian Studies; History of Christianity; Systematic Theology; Christian Ethics; Spiritual Leadership.

Requirements for the DTh Degree

All applicants must have BS and Masters

The Doctor of Theology degree requires 52 credit-hours of study and extends through three stages: coursework, Knowledge Area Modules (KAM), and dissertation. Candidates for this degree must fulfill the following:

  • 39   total credit hours of coursework
  • A 9 credit hours of dissertation required


The Doctor of Christian Leadership focus on entrepreneurism, leadership and strategic planning as well as how they relate to ethical practice in business.    The curriculum integrates your dissertation process into your program, beginning in your first course, and offers experiences that support your scholarly learning.  Throughout your journey, receive the support of our robust learning community that includes peers, dissertation chairs, methodological, and committee members.

Students study the business components of for-profit and nonprofit sectors.

DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY in Biblical Studies

To earn the PhD in Biblical Studies, a student must earn 54 semester hours of credit at the doctoral level.  Each PhD student must complete foundational courses in Christian Ministry and Advanced Studies in Biblical Hermeneutics, plus a six-course cored which exposes the student to the breadth of academic experience in biblical studies.  A student must also complete six electives from a choice of advanced seminars in the primary biblical text (Hebrew, Aramaic, or Greek), and write a dissertation.  The capstone of the program is the students dissertation.  The student must complete four dissertation modules of three hours each in order to earn the degree.  Upon completion the student must successfully defend (via conference call) that doctoral dissertation.

The PhD in Biblical Studies program can typically be completed in four to five years.

Admission to Spirit and Truth Christian University is based on the student’s ability to satisfactorily complete the academic requirements. Other factors such as the individual’s Christian experience, call to ministry, and moral character are so taken into account.

Credit Transfers

Accepting credits earned at another institution is the prerogative of the receiving institution. No college, school or accrediting agency can require another institution to accept in transfer credit earned somewhere else. Even when the sending institution is accredited by the same agency as the receiving school, there is no guarantee credits will transfer.

Students wishing to transfer credits to other schools are responsible for finding out about the acceptance of credit by the receiving institution.

KBIS accepts credits from approved Colleges or Seminaries. A minimum grade of “C” will be accepted. Please contact KBIS via email to find out whether your previous College or Seminary is approved.

Advanced Standing Credits (Life Experience)

Students with ministerial experience may be granted credits based on their experience.

Courses are priced very affordably. You can pay in full per class, by the program OR you can sign up for a payment plan. Payments plans start at 10% of Total Degree Cost  as  Deposit and $200/month. Payment plans are for degree programs only.

*All degree programs are billed in full based on number of credits required for graduation.


Students purchase textbooks from the bookstore of their choice.  Some courses are KBIS specific and can only be purchased through our school office.  Books are required for each course and range from $20.00 – $60.00 per book.

Graduation Fee

A graduation fee is required for each degree issued by KBIS. The graduation fee for the Associate and Bachelor degree is $150.00 and $175.00 for the Master’s degree. The graduation fee for the Doctorate degree is $295.00.  The graduation fee is due no later than 60 days before the student is scheduled to graduate.

Delinquent payments

Payments which are delinquent by more than ten (10)days will be charged a late fee of $20.00. Payments delinquent by more than sixty (60)days will require the student to re-enroll unless previous arrangements have been made with KBIS.


A transcript of credits received at KBIS will be issued by the Registrar’s Office upon a receipt of a written request from the student. Transcripts are not issued until all academic and financial requirements have been met. Transcript fee is $25.00.

Dismissal Policy

Kingdom Bible Institute and Seminary reserves the right to suspend, dismiss or place on probation any student whose academic standing, financial obligation, progress or conduct is less than satisfactory.


Any student desiring re-admission to KBIS is subject to approval from the Admissions office. The application fee is required for all re-enrollments.

A fee of $25.00 must be submitted with a written request for transcript. No transcripts will be released without the prepaid fee. 

Thesis Review Fee for Masters Program: $50 must accompany the submission of all Thesiwork.

Life Experience Credit: $50 for each life experience credit applied toward the student's degree. 

Postage: The school generally pays for postage on all packages sent by the school to the student. The student is required to pay postage on all course work and other materials they send to the school. (We will not accept C.O.D. items.) Students can eliminate postage by uploading their written assignments to the school via the internet.  

Duplicate Diploma Fee: $30 for each duplicate diploma.

NSF Fee: A $50 penalty will be charged to any student who writes a bad check to the school.

KBIS operates with rolling enrollment, accepting students up to 12 months out for future semesters. All application materials should be completed a minimum of 10 days before  you intend to enroll.
