Kingdom Bible Institute and Seminary (KBIS) offers many academic programs.


Each program is designed to help develop Spirit anointed leaders for Christian ministry through rigorous learning experiences that allow them to study and practice under the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and the mentoring of a highly qualified and talented faculty. 


KBIS is designed for Christians who want to learn the Bible and live out the teachings of Christ. The academic programs are built on the fundamentals of the Christian faith but recognize the diversity that exists among God loving believers who accept the Bible as the inerrant, infallible, and inspired Word of God, and Christ Jesus as the only Savior.


Students applying to any academic program must be at least 18 years old and involved in a local church ministry (whether as a lay ministry volunteer or as a paid staff member).

Certificate

All certificate programs can be applied to a bachelor, master, or doctorate degree as a minor in that discipline (… e.g. Bachelor of Biblical Studies with a Minor in Kingdom Church Planting.


Admission Requirements No high school diploma or GED is required to enroll in the certificate programs. However, a high school diploma or GED is required if these credits are applied to a degree program.


Course Requirements Students entering certificate programs enroll in according to the university’s academic calendar.

UNDERGRADUATE 

ASSOCIATE OF MINISTRY

The Associate of Ministry (AAM) program is designed for those applicants who have limited or no undergraduate college credit but have a burning desire to serve in ministry. The Associate of Ministry program is suitable for Deacons, Elders, Sunday school teachers, ministry leaders, and others serving in lay leadership positions in the church in mission fields.


Admission Requirements The applicant must present evidence of completion of a high school diploma or GED and present evidence of dedication in some ministry field.


Course Requirements The Associate of Ministry is a 60 credit-hour degree equivalent to a two year junior or community college degree. A core of 45 credit-hours must be earned at KBIS. Students entering this program enroll in the same courses that are required for a Bachelor of Biblical Studies degree.


ASSOCIATE OF BIBLICAL STUDIES


The Associate of Biblical Studies degree is designed to equip students to more effectively study the Scriptures, and offers training in general studies areas.  The ABS utilizes an integrative approach in which the various courses build on one another to provide a unique focus that will help students connect biblical interpretation with an understanding of the world around them, while developing skills needed to succeed within an academic setting.


Admission Requirements:  A high school diploma or GED.  Clear evidence of dedication in this course of study.


Course Requirements: The ABS requires 60 credit hours.  A core of 45 credit hours must be completed at KBIS.  


ASSOCIATE OF PASTORAL COUNSELING


The Associate of Pastoral Counseling (APC) program helps men and women to learn about catapulting others to total deliverance and complete freedom from hurts, setbacks and various hangups.  It is designed to show hope that is only discovered in Jesus Christ.


Admission Requirements:  A high school diploma or GED.  Clear evidence of dedication in this field or area of study which may include letter of recommendation from place of employment.


Course Requirements:  The Associate of Pastor Counseling degree requires 60 credit hours.  A core of 30 credit hours must be completed at KBIS.


BACHELOR OF BIBLICAL STUDIES

The Bachelor of Biblical Studies (BBS) program is designed to provide a broad biblical, theological and practical foundation for those preparing to invest their lives in church or mission vocations which require academic credentials to gain ordination.


Admission Requirements The applicant must present evidence of completion of a high school diploma or GED and present evidence of dedication in some ministry field.


Course Requirements The Bachelor of Biblical Studies degree requires 60 credit-hours (120 total hours including AA degree credits). A core of 45 credit hours must be completed at KBIS.


BACHELORS OF THEOLOGY


Through foundational theological study the Bachelor of Arts in Theology provides a strong basis for ministry and christian leadership.  In addition to spiritual formation and exegetical skills essential to Christian studies, the program demonstrates how to examine the history of Christianity and the development of Christian doctrine, as well as gain a deeper understanding of major contemporary religions of the world.  


BACHELOR OF ARTS (B.A.) IN PASTORAL COUNSELING


The Bachelor of Arts in Pastoral Counseling is designed to help the pastoral counselor, similar to a therapist or clinical counselor in a number of ways.  The student will learn a wide variety of different therapeutic techniques to approach men and women and help them work through their problems, and approach issues through faith, theology and spirituality.


Course Requirements:  The BA in pastoral counseling requires 60 credit hours (120 total hours including Associate degree credits).  A core of 45 credit hours must be completed at KBIS.


BACHELORS OF CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP


Earning a Bachelor of Christian Leadership degree, you examine the history of Christianity and the development of Christian doctrine, as well as gain a deeper understanding of major contemporary religions of the world.  Your study includes the major teachings of the Christian faith and the basic elements of Christian discipleship.  


To effectively lead, you must also be an effective servant.  In Christian teachings, this means that you approach all decisions based upon Christian principles, which includes strategies for leading, shepherding and growing your church so you can serve more members.  While earning this degree, you explore Old and New Testament survey courses, Christian formation, the Gospels and the Book of Acts, and Christian Ethics.

GRADUATE

MASTER OF THEOLOGY

The completion in Theology provides students with fundamental understanding of systematic and historical theology.  This graduate program in theology program is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary for local church service by instilling a foundational knowledge of Christian theology, including the biblical and historical roots of key doctrines of the faith.

The student is prepared to demonstrate theological reflection skills in identifying common themes in systematic and historical theology, emphasizing historical developments and major theological movements.

MASTER OF CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP

The Master of Christian of Christian Leadership is a 72 credit-hour degree designed for students who want to pursue specialized ministries.  The curriculum includes tools for biblical study; an introduction to Christian scripture, history, and theology; and classes in ministry-related skills.  

Upon completion, students will be prepared for a ministerial vocation as a church planter, minister in an established church, teacher, or campus minister, as well as roles in non-profit work. 

MASTER OF PASTORAL COUNSELING

The Master of Pastoral Counseling provides a strong education foundation in Christian principles, theory and counseling practices.  This program is designed to help students integrate Christian values into counseling practices.  In addition to biblical wisdom, you explore psychological theories related to up-to-date assessment and treatment methods and the impact culture, family and other sociological influences. 

MASTER OF DIVINITY (MDiv)

The Master of Divinity (MDiv) is a 93 credit-hour professional degree designed for those who have a bachelor’s degree and are serving or preparing to serve, on a church staff or in other ministry positions. Students develop competencies in Biblical theology, church history, doctrine, spiritual formation, as well as servant leadership skills required for local church ministry. The curriculum may be completed in three years, although many students take longer due to family, church, and job responsibilities. Is the Master of Divinity right for you? MASTERS CERTIFICATE IN MINISTRY (MCM)

The courses for this program are the same as the Masters in Divinity Degree . It is for individuals who want advanced learning in Biblical Studies and Ministry but do not have an undergraduate degree or an interest in getting one.

The Masters Certificate in Ministry (MCM) is a 45 credit-hour professional degree designed for those who have a bachelor’s degree and are serving or preparing to serve, on a church staff or in other ministry positions. Students develop competencies in Biblical theology, church history, doctrine, spiritual formation, as well as servant leadership skills required for local church ministry. DOCTOR OF MINISTRY (D.Min)

The Doctor of Ministry degree is a practice-oriented doctorate for pastors and ministry leaders. The goal of the program is to develop and equip reflective practitioners at a doctoral level with new levels of theological discernment and practical skills for the art of ministry leadership. DMin students will be stretched theologically and exposed to new models of ministry.

  • 33 total credit hours of coursework
  • A 9 credit hours of thesis required

DOCTOR OF THEOLOGY

The DTh degree program is offered to students wishing to enhance their knowledge and ministerial skills or teaching competence in certain advanced areas of theology and ministry. The DTh program at STCU has a strong academic focus and biblical foundation, with a clear connection to the church.

Candidates for the Doctor of Theology degree will specialize in one of the fields of theological scholarship, such as: Biblical Studies; Hebrew Bible/Old Testament; New Testament and Early Christian Studies; History of Christianity; Systematic Theology; Christian Ethics; Spiritual Leadership.


Requirements for the DTh Degree


All applicants must have BS and Masters


The Doctor of Theology degree requires 52 credit-hours of study and extends through three stages: coursework, Knowledge Area Modules (KAM), and dissertation. Candidates for this degree must fulfill the following:


  • 39   total credit hours of coursework
  • A 9 credit hours of dissertation required

DOCTOR OF CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP

The Doctor of Christian Leadership focus on entrepreneurism, leadership and strategic planning as well as how they relate to ethical practice in business.    The curriculum integrates your dissertation process into your program, beginning in your first course, and offers experiences that support your scholarly learning.  Throughout your journey, receive the support of our robust learning community that includes peers, dissertation chairs, methodological, and committee members.

Students study the business components of for-profit and nonprofit sectors.


DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY in Biblical Studies

To earn the PhD in Biblical Studies, a student must earn 54 semester hours of credit at the doctoral level.  Each PhD student must complete foundational courses in Christian Ministry and Advanced Studies in Biblical Hermeneutics, plus a six-course cored which exposes the student to the breadth of academic experience in biblical studies.  A student must also complete six electives from a choice of advanced seminars in the primary biblical text (Hebrew, Aramaic, or Greek), and write a dissertation.  The capstone of the program is the students dissertation.  The student must complete four dissertation modules of three hours each in order to earn the degree.  Upon completion the student must successfully defend (via conference call) that doctoral dissertation.

The PhD in Biblical Studies program can typically be completed in four to five years.

Admissions

Admission to Spirit and Truth Christian University is based on the student’s ability to satisfactorily complete the academic requirements. Other factors such as the individual’s Christian experience, call to ministry, and moral character are so taken into account.

Credit Transfers

Accepting credits earned at another institution is the prerogative of the receiving institution. No college, school or accrediting agency can require another institution to accept in transfer credit earned somewhere else. Even when the sending institution is accredited by the same agency as the receiving school, there is no guarantee credits will transfer.


Students wishing to transfer credits to other schools are responsible for finding out about the acceptance of credit by the receiving institution.


KBIS accepts credits from approved Colleges or Seminaries. A minimum grade of “C” will be accepted. Please contact KBIS via email to find out whether your previous College or Seminary is approved.


Advanced Standing Credits (Life Experience)

Students with ministerial experience may be granted credits based on their experience.

FINANCIAL AID

Courses a priced very affordably. You can pay in full per class, by the program OR you can sign up for a payment plan. Payments plans start at 10% of Total Degree Cost  as  Deposit and $200/month. Payment plans are for degree programs only.


*All degree programs are billed in full based on number of credits required for graduation.


Textbooks

Students purchase textbooks from the bookstore of their choice, but have the option of ordering here online as well. Books are required for each course and range from $20.00 – $60.00 per book.


Graduation Fee

A graduation fee is required for each degree issued by KBIS. The graduation fee for the Associate and Bachelor degree is $150.00 and $175.00 for the Master’s degree. The graduation fee for the Doctorate degree is $295.00.  The graduation fee is due no later than 60 days before the student is scheduled to graduate.


Delinquent payments

Payments which are delinquent by more than ten (10)days will be charged a late fee of $20.00. Payments delinquent by more than sixty (60)days will require the student to re-enroll unless previous arrangements have been made with KBIS.


Transcripts

A transcript of credits received at KBIS will be issued by the Registrar’s Office upon a receipt of a written request from the student. Transcripts are not issued until all academic and financial requirements have been met. Transcript fee is $25.00.


Dismissal Policy

Kingdom Bible Institute and Seminary reserves the right to suspend, dismiss or place on probation any student whose academic standing, financial obligation, progress or conduct is less than satisfactory.


Re-admission

Any student desiring re-admission to KBIS is subject to approval from the Admissions office. The application fee is required for all re-enrollments.

Kingdom Bible Institute and Seminary admits male or female students of any race, color, nationality, or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded to students by our administrative or educational policies.

Full payment must be paid before degrees are awarded.

When are applications due?

KBIS operates with rolling enrollment, accepting students up to 12 months out for future semesters. All application materials should be completed a minimum of 10 days before  you intend to enroll.

Thesis/Dissertation Review Fee: $50 must accompany the submission of all Thesis/

Dissertation work.


Life Experience Credit: $50 for each life experience credit applied toward the student's degree. 


Textbooks: Most textbooks are not included with the course materials.  Price Varies.  

Postage: The school generally pays for postage on all packages sent by the school to the student. The student is required to pay postage on all course work and other materials they send to the school. (We will not accept C.O.D. items.) Students can eliminate postage by uploading their written assignments to the school via the internet.  

Duplicate Diploma Fee: $30 for each duplicate diploma.

NSF Fee: A $50 penalty will be charged to any student who writes a bad check to the school.
